Therapy Process

The therapy process begins with an initial consultation during which we will talk about why you are seeking therapy, your current concerns and symptoms and how they affect your life, your history, and your goals for treatment. For children and teens, part of the consultation will be a parent interview, and the other portion will be a meeting with your child/teen. This consultation will help determine the frequency at which we will meet. Ongoing appointments will last for 45 minutes.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is collaborative, structured, and action-oriented. It is often a time-limited therapy. Most people attend therapy sessions for 3 to 12 months, although this will vary depending on the individual’s concerns and goals. This structure makes it more focused and practical, helping you achieve specific, measurable goals. CBT empowers you to identify, challenge, and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, replacing them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking.

Westport Cognitive Behavioral Solutions is out-of-network with insurance providers. You can consult with your insurance company to ask about reimbursement for services. I will provide you with receipts that can be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement.
