Individual therapy for children, teens, and adults using evidence-based treatments and techniques, such as:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is widely recognized as one of the most effective therapies available for treating anxiety disorders and OCD. CBT helps us explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect our lives. Using this information, we can learn strategies and identify tools to help us feel better and act more effectively.
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)- ERP is considered the most effective treatment for OCD, but it can also be applied successfully to other anxiety disorders. The goal of ERP is to help you confront your anxieties through exposure to what is making you anxious in order to reduce the amount of distress it causes. You do this gradually and step-wise so that you are not overwhelmed and build confidence to try more distressing exposures. At the same time, you do not engage in your typical response to distress (i.e., compulsions) or engage in avoidance. This helps to break the cycle of your anxiety.
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)- SPACE is a parent-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety and OCD. Rather than asking their child to change, parents look at how they can change their own behavior to reduce the accommodations they are making for their child’s symptoms. They also learn skills to about to support and build confidence in their child to help them overcome their anxiety.
Individual Therapy
Parent Consultation
Support and guidance for parents is a regular part of individual therapy for children and teens, but parent consultation can also be used independently.
Parent consultation sessions can address concerns related to a child’s behavior, emotional well-being, or development. These sessions provide an opportunity for parents to gain insight into their child’s struggles, learn effective strategies, and develop skills to support their child's growth and mental health.
*Both in-person and telehealth sessions are available.
